Synopsis:
When
attempting to view a web page created with the Report Application Server /
Crystal Enterprise Embedded option, you receive the error
Analysis Server
(0x80004005)
Access denied. Please check directory setting for files you can access.
or
HTTP 500 - Internal server
error
or similar.
More Information:
This
error can occur when the Report
Application Server/Crystal Enterprise Embedded is not configured to access
report files in the directory where your .rpt file is located.
Solution:
Configure the Report
Application Server/Crystal Enterprise Embedded to access files in the directory
where your report file is located. You may wish to configure access to wwwroot
or the root of your drive. Because subdirectories are included, this will provide access to reports in any folder beneath
this point in the directory tree.
Version 9 Report Application Server Steps:
1. Launch the RAS Configuration Manager from the Start
Menu by clicking
Start ->
Programs -> Crystal Enterprise 9 -> Tools -> RAS Configuration Manager
2. In the
Report Directory field, type or browse to change the top directory to which
RAS should have access. Apply the change.
3.
In
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools ->
Services
stop the Report Application Server service
and then restart the service.

pop-up menu.

Parameters tab, change the Option Type selection from Database to Server.
5. In the
Report Directory field, type or browse to change the top directory to which
